FLORIDA Approves 18.8% State Farm Rate INCREASE

Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty has approved a statewide average 18.8 percent rate increase in State Farm's homeowner's policies. These new rates will apply to new policies effective July 1 and renewal July 15. Currently, State Farm has some 578,000 homeowners' policies in the state.
In a separate filing, McCarty approved a statewide average increase of 62 percent in the insurer's commercial multi-peril residential policies that cover homes that are owned by an individual or business that are rented to others.
The rate changes from policyholder to policyholder will vary based on geographical location and other factors...these increases will range all the way up to 64.5%!!
